Position: Sr. R&D Scientist 
 
Company: Our client is a leading provider into the polymer industry that develops a full range of Thermoplastic & Thermoset compounds, Additives and Masterbatches. These materials go into a wide range of markets spanning form Wire& Cable, Pipe & Fittings, Building & Construction, Film & Sheet, and other specialty markets. These products span from PP, PE, PU, Nylons, Polystyrenes, TPE and more. Your unique role with the company: This role is a key position will take overall responsibility for developing new materials and polymer technologies for my client. You will be actively working with Silane cross-linkable cable grade compounds in global markets and fast growing interests in expanding the product offerings for the wire and cable business and other markets. You will partner with the Technical Service, Operations and Quality organization between three different locations (two domestically one internationally) to develop next generation materials across their business units. This position will have a major role in developing new technical platforms and developing new products for the entire organization.

What we are looking for in a Candidate:
 
  • BS Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Technology or Polymer Engineering 
  • 5-10 years experience working in polymer formulation development in the compounding industry
  • Strong knowledge of structural property relationship of polymers relating to end use properties 
  • Sound background in physical and rheological characterization of polymer materials
  • Solid understanding of statistical methods and experimental design techniques
