Company: Privately held and founded in 1980 with revenues of $16M, my client is ISO 9001 certified and a leader when it comes to manufacturing high quality thermoformed medical plastic products. They specialize in components and assemblies with complex geometries essential to the operation of medical devices or complex commercial products. The majority of their products are in support of current, and next generation minimal invasive surgical devices including endoscopic access ports and filters, vein harvesting devices, vascular infusion delivery systems, and cardiac catheter insertion devices.
They differ from from most molders by focusing exclusively on the most critical portions of a device where their expertise in mold engineering and state-of-the-art molding processes are critical to the success of their customers’ projects.

Your unique role with the company:  You will be responsible for managing projects through their entirety, communicating with the customer, working with the internal teams and working hands on by establishing optimal molding process conditions as needed.
 
  • Manage and own projects from start to finish.
  • Review Plastic Injection mold and tool designs to improve quality of manufacturing results.
  • Review designs for new tooling, customer change notices, gages, fixtures, and jigs.
  • Provide molding technical support for existing and new customers including process optimization and guidance through IQ/OQ/PQ protocol.
  • Provide mold/molding processing assistance as needed.
  • Provide inputs for cost and feasibility for new mold construction.
 
What the company is looking for: 
  • Previous molding/process engineering experience
  • Must be proficient in establishing and refining Plastic Injection molding processes.
  • Strong knowledge in the set up and operation of Plastic injection molding machines.
  • Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding processes related to medical devices, or any regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of plastic injection molding materials, processing, and facilities
  • Strong knowledge of all safety procedures and policies
  • Knowledge of Solidworks 3D or Cad or other design programs
